New Members

Welcome archers to be.

GTB Field members are passionate about their sport and want to see it grow with more people having the opportunity to participate. We run archery introduction sessions on a Tuesday night at our indoor club rooms at the Geelong show grounds between 7pm and 9pm. Please see the map below for our location. These sessions are free of charge and club equipment is available to give you a feel for the sport. We have trained and accredited coaches on hand to provide tuition.
As some sessions can get very busy and club equipment is limited, please enquire on our contact page and include your phone number, when you would like to attend and if you have ever tried archery before. This information will assist us to give you an enjoyable session. You are more than welcome to bring along your own equipment to the introductory sessions. Should you chooses to join our club after the three introductory sessions club equipment is still available to uses for the next month or so whilst you work towards obtaining your own. Archery doesn’t have to be expensive and our members are more than willing to provide recommendations on what equipment to purchase.
A little bit about the club fees and joining process. We provide up to three of the free come and try sessions after these you are welcome to join the club and continue to enjoy the sport with us. There are two memberships required to join.
GTB annual membership. This is membership to the club itself and all fee’s go back into maintaining the equipment.

The second membership is to the Australian Bowhunters Association (ABA). GTB are affiliated with this governing sports body and they provide accreditation services for insurance, coaching and generally make the sport possible. You also receive six editions of the Archery action magazine. The ABA can be joined online at https://www.bowhunters.org.au/

Full membership then gives you access to indoor shoot nights on both Tuesday and Wednesday nights as well as Sunday shoots at our outdoor range. You can also join in the two day competition events and other activities organised by the club and ABA. There are other benefits as well that will be explained during your come and try sessions.
